Trip to Wollerton Hall and workshop
Over 30 members spent a most enjoyable day at Wollerton Hall, near Market Drayton, in August.
We had the beautiful gardens to ourselves and we were able to pick our spot to do sketching and painting in the sunshine.
The gardens are very inspiring and were set out in “rooms” each with a different atmosphere, colour and planting scheme. There were also lots of features to create plenty of interest.
Not only that, but the food was very good too! Many members plan a further visit in the future.
The next day, Lesley Fisher, who had proposed the idea of the garden visit, led a most enjoyable workshop at Oswestry Cricket Club and many members took the opportunity to develop their sketches from the previous day’s visit. Others took advantage of Lesley’s prepared still life inspirations for their work.
