Chairman’s Christmas Post

December 2017

Dear Friends

It gives me great pleasure as your new Chairman to wish you all a very happy Christmas and good health in the New Year. May we all hope that 2018 will be a more peaceful one for our troubled world.

I hope you have enjoyed this year’s Programme. We have tried to cater for all tastes: attendance has been good and as said before, even if it is not your choice do come along anyway and have a go, you will be surprised at what you can achieve or you can use your own medium and still learn something.

I think you will all agree that our change of venue to the Cricket Club has been a success: our Workshops are so much more friendly and relaxed and everyone seems to enjoy themselves and I am greatly encouraged by the increase of new members so a special welcome to all of you.

Subscriptions are now due and I would ask you to send your cheques for £25 with name and address and contact number to Mrs Ann Wilkie our Membership Secretary whose address is LLWYN ONN, LLWYNMAWR, WREXHAM LL20 7BG Tel .01691 718535: you will receive your membership card as proof of payment which gives the year’s Programme. May I ask you to enter the dates in diaries, calendars, phones etc. as an aide memoire.   A copy of the Programme is enclosed to ‘whet your appetite’ and you will see we start the year with Paint together afternoons held upstairs at the Memorial Hall (NOT the Cricket Club) in the Wilfred Owen Suite. These are informal gatherings around centred tables where we do our own thing, chat and laugh plus coffee tea and biscuits and tuition if required.

Our next Exhibition will be at Chirk Castle at the end of May so I hope you will all be working on paintings to exhibit there!

We have some interesting Workshops planned for 2018 with the return of a couple of artists we have all enjoyed in the past and new ones to hopefully inspire us.   Information about the guest artist leading the Workshop will as usual be online beforehand with what equipment we need to bring.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Best wishes

Chris Taylor
